Alan Bond, Reaction Engines - YouTube
On the last trade day at the 2012 Farnborough Air Show, British aerospace technology company Reaction Engines held a public presentation at its stand for staff and shareholders to celebrate its latest milestone in the ongoing development of the Sabre engine to power the future Skylon reusable space vehicle.
In this video clip, company founder and chief engineer Alan Bond describes progress on testing the key technology, an air pre-cooler system which can cool incoming airstream from 1,000 deg C to -150 deg C in 1/1,000 of a second.
