ESA CryoSat rocking and rolling - video

Since its launch in April 2010, CryoSat-2 has been collecting data to improve our understanding of the relationship between ice and climate.

To ensure the precision of the measurements, an operation is underway to roll the spacecraft by ±0.4 degrees to test the radar altimeter in measuring the topography of ice margins. This animation is not to scale.
