Shuttle Memories: Steve and Eileen, The Hawleys. Steve was deemed the unluckiest astronaut at launch time. He experienced 16 'scrubs' whereby he the launch was delayed 16 times for different reasons. It was reputed that on the final attempt Steve had to wear a brown bag over his head so that the Shuttle was not aware he was on board.
