This video of a Leidenfrost Maze was created by University of Bath to showcase a bizarre phenomenon known as the ‘Leidenfrost effect’.
Basically, when a liquid is heated past its boiling point, instead of boiling, it will become incased in a vapour layer that prevents it from boiling rapidly.
In this video, water droplets are moved through a maze by being placed in contact with an extremely hot aluminum surface with a saw-tooth texture.
