UK Holiday jet in near miss with UFO over London

The captain of a Thomas Cook airliner flying tourists back from the Spanish holiday island to the north of England reported a "near miss" with a "rugby ball"-shaped UFO, which passed within feet of his jet.

The encounter, over Reading, Berks, was reported to the aviation authorities, who launched an investigation. But no earthly identity for the object could be established.

The encounter was disclosed earlier this month by the Telegraph, following the publication of a report into the inquiry. The document did not identify the aircraft involved.

However, following an analysis of flight data recorded on the internet, it was established that the jet was a Thomas Cook leased Boeing A320, with the flight number TCX24HX and the registration G-KKAZ, which was made in 2003.

The jet was flying to Manchester International airport, from Ibiza, on July 19th 2013. For years, the island has enjoyed a hedonistic reputation, attracting thousands of tourists each summer, many attracted to its vibrant nightlife.

The aircraft was flying at 516mph, at an altitude of 34,000ft, when it was passed by the UFO.

The encounter occurred in daylight, at around 6.35pm. It only emerged following publication of the report, which concluded it was “not possible to trace the object or determine the likely cause of the sighting”.

The captain said he spotted the object travelling towards the jet out of a left hand side, cockpit window, apparently heading directly for it. He said there was no time to for the aircrew to take evasive action.

He told investigators he was certain the object was going to crash into his aircraft and ducked as it headed towards him.

Weather Balloon
The incident was investigated by the UK Airprox Board, which studies “near misses” involving aircraft in British airspace.

The report states: “(The captain) was under the apprehension that they were on collision course with no time to react.

His immediate reaction was to duck to the right and reach over to alert the FO (First Officer); there was no time to talk to alert him.”

It adds: “The Captain was fully expecting to experience some kind of impact with a conflicting aircraft.”

He told investigators he believes the object passes “within a few feet” above the jet.

He described it as being “cigar/rugby ball like” in shape, bright silver and apparently “metallic” in construction.

Once it had passed, the captain checked the aircraft’s instruments and contacted air traffic controllers to report the incident. However, there was no sign of the mystery craft.

As part of the inquiry, data recordings were checked to establish what other aircraft were in the area at the time. However, all were eliminated.

Experimental Weather Balloon
The investigation also ruled out meteorological balloons, after checking none were released in the vicinity.

Toy balloons were also discounted, as they are not large enough to reach such heights. Military radar operators were contacted but were unable to trace the reported object.

The presence of other nations flying stealth aircraft missions over the UK and Europe is not uncommon but, as it was not possible to positively identify the object, the country of origin, and its intention, remain a mystery.

A spokesman for Thomas Cook Airlines said, “All our pilots are trained and required to report any unexpected events that occur during the flight to the aviation authorities.”

The UK Ministry of Defence closed its UFO desk in December 2009, along with its hotline for reporting such sightings.

Following that change, the UK Civil Aviation Authority took the decision that it would continue to look into such reports, from aircrew and air traffic controllers, because they could have implications for “flight safety”.

In 2012, the head of the UK National Air Traffic Control Services admitted staff detected around one unexplained flying object every month.

Astronaut Sees 'UFO' Near Space Station - Video

When any kind of unidentified flying object floats by the International Space Station, you can bet astronauts are going to notice. That's just what happened this week, and one space traveler caught it all on video.

NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy was quick on the draw when he captured a video of the 'unidentified object' near the space station. He spotted the object floating near the space station on Monday (Aug. 19).

"Was it a UFO? Not really," NASA officials wrote in a video description. "Russian ground controllers identified it as an antenna cover from the Zvezda service module."

The object was an antenna cover from one of the low-gain WAL antennas on the space station used to help guide the European Space Agency's unmanned Automated Transfer Vehicle cargo ships during rendezvous and docking operations, NASA officials said.

NASA spokesman Josh Byerly told reporters that the wayward antenna cover, which is now space junk, poses no impact threat to the space station.

During a spacewalk outside the station today (Aug. 22), two Russian cosmonauts are inspecting six WAL antennas on the Zvezda module to check the positions of their covers.

The cosmonauts reported some of the covers to be loose and were expected to tighten them at a later date.

'Bullet-Shaped' UFO Spotted over Turkey, Europe - YouTube

A video clip of a bullet-shaped UFO was uploaded on Tuesday to YouTube, but viewers are left to interpret the filmed sighting, as the uploader did not post a description.

The clip's first frame hinted the location could be somewhere in the woods, or a remote area. The camera holder then looked up the sky, and the strange-looking flying object was seen. Aside from its unusual shape, the UFOs chemtrail also puzzled viewers.

The title of the clip is written in Turkish characters. But there is no absolutely certainty that the video was taken in Turkey.

However, a glance at the flying object would show a really unusual shape of an aircraft. The stream of vapor smoke it left on its trail made the sighting even more peculiar.

"But one look at the object is enough to say that it is unlike any airplane, jet or helicopter ever filmed before," Examiner.com reported.

Unfortunately, no one could get a closer look on the silver-colored subject. Zooming in would only break the image because it requires a cutting-edge camera for film viewing.

Without distinct wings, rotor blades, and flashing navigational lights, the "bullet video" shows nothing less than a legitimate unidentified flying object.

It seemed the aircraft was being propelled by some kind of an engine. As to the manner of flight operation, it seemed there is an entirely different method for the bullet UFO.

No explanation has come up on the bullet UFO just yet. Are the aliens on to some 'Earthling' things?

X-47B Drone Mistaken for a UFO in Kansas

An X-37B drone jet assembled by Northrop Grumman has been mistaken for a UFO by sky watchers.

Upon hearing the revelation, Brooks McKinney, senior manager of Northrop Grumman public relations department, appeared in public to present more information.

He explained that it was the X-47B unmanned combat drone manufactured to function from carriers of aircraft.

It was intended to be transported to the Naval Air Station Patuxent Rive, Maryland.

UMS or Unmanned systems became extremely usual that the Northrop Grumman has designed a special section devoted to drone technology. This you can check out on its official public website, where a specific page was set for X-47B.

"Clearly people are interested in what's going through town. It's unusual to see a shrink-wrapped aircraft, especially one with that shape," said McKinney.

McKinney further explained that the company has already built two of the same crafts for the Navy. Each craft was tested at Edwards Air Force Base in California since March. One is currently heading to Maryland, while the other will have to stay in California.

"It's difficult to fly an unmanned drone through commercial airspace," according to McKinney when asked about the reason why these high-tech crafts weren't flying.

So to end with the question "What's wrong with Kansas?" let's head to the answer: a throbbing absence of alien spaceships.

UFO Alien Encounters are Only Dreams?

American researchers are claiming that supposed human encounters with aliens and unidentified flying objects (UFO) may just be dreams based on results of a sleep experiment.

The researchers from the Out-Of-Body Experience Research Center in Los Angeles made the findings after subjecting 20 volunteers to out-of-body experiences when they are half-awake at night and asking them to meet aliens during that dream-like state.

Out of those volunteers, more than half were able to achieve out-of-body experiences with seven or 35 percent dreaming of alien or UFO encounters at their home as instructed, according to lead researcher Michael Raduga.

Raduga has a theory that people claiming to encounter aliens or see UFOs are just dreaming, so he conducted the study to prove it.

"When people experience alien abductions in the night, they usually don't know they are actually in REM sleep and having an out-of-body experience," Raduga told Life's Little Mysteries.

The volunteers had varying response to the instructions. Raduga said there were some who needed more attempts to separate from their sleeping bodies while others failed to do so out of fear.

There were also some who never proceeded to looking for aliens while dreaming also due to fear.

Those who encountered aliens described their dreams to the researchers. One described the aliens as resembling the creatures from the movie "The Thing."

The volunteered told Raduga the three aliens that appeared before him scared him so much that he regained consciousness.

The ISS and UFO's: One Man's View

Tony Hopping sees UFO's often. He says he has been having experiences with unidentified flying objects all his life and he is sure of it: we are not alone.

Spotting aliens comes so naturally to him, that he can do it from his back yard in Selby, North Yorkshire, a town in the middle of Great-Brittain. Lucky for us, he occassionally points up his video camera.

Last week Tony did it again. He made this video of a UFO:

Boy hit by UFO - Meteorite

14-year old German boy was hit in the hand by a pea-sized meteorite that scared him and left a scar.

"When it hit me it knocked me flying and then was still going fast enough to bury itself into the road," Gerrit Blank said in a newspaper account. Astronomers have analyzed the object and conclude it was indeed a natural object from space.

Most meteors vaporize in the atmosphere, creating "shooting stars," and never reach the ground. The few that do are typically made mostly of metals. Stony space rocks, even if they are big as a car, will usually break apart or explode as they crash through the atmosphere.

There are a handful of reports of homes and cars being struck by meteorites, and many cases of space rocks streaking to the surface and being found later.

But human strikes are rare. There are no known instances of humans being killed by space rocks.
